CONNECTION HELP

When IRC won’t connect.

Use the round-robin hostname

For most clients, connect to irc.morphie.net instead of selecting an individual server. Use secure SSL/TLS port 6697 whenever possible.

Tell us what happened

When asking for help, include your IRC client, device/operating system, server hostname, port, and the exact error message.

No IRC client?

Morphie webchat runs in your browser and requires no separate IRC application.

Mobile apps

Morphie mobile apps remain available on Google Play. They are based on an earlier version of Morphie and are not currently receiving regular updates, but future development is planned.

SAFETY & MODERATION

Keep your IRC experience secure.

Protect your password

Use a strong password, do not reuse it elsewhere, and never send it to another user in a public channel.

Use SSL/TLS

Port 6697 encrypts the connection between your IRC client and Morphie and is the recommended connection method.

Report problems

For live help, join #Help. For private contact, email support@morphie.com. Include relevant nicknames, channels, approximate times, and what happened.

VOLUNTEER HELPERS

What is a Sage?

Sages are Morphie’s volunteer helpers: experienced community members who assist users in #Help, answer questions, and help newcomers find their way around IRC.

01

Community role

Sages are volunteers who help the community rather than a paid support staff.

02

Usually found in #Help

The role centers on helping users with Morphie and IRC questions.

03

Future volunteers welcome

The Sage program can grow as community members become experienced and want to help others.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
